It’s our last day in Cairns and we get woken up by the cleaner – haha - who is exclaiming that we should be up and about as it’s a lovely day! So, we surface after 11am and there aren’t any sore heads – excellent news. Everyone gets their schizz together and we meet Stuart to go to the lagoon. Another wee trip on the free bus and off we trot to get some rays – bring it on!
The lagoon is a totally random place. It’s basically a big swimming pool that is right bang in the middle of the city centre, surrounded by grass and looks out to the sea. It’s a great place to go and I recommend it to anyone! The boys love it a little too much, due to all the beautiful people sunbathing in very close proximity to us…..Aaron even takes a few souvenir snaps – how uncouth!
We meet up with the Irish boys and I’m, once again, the only chick in the group! Argh, need my girlie chats – raaaaaa!! Anyhoo, I concentrate on topping up the tan and I’m frequently taking a dip due to the beating rays.
It’s a gorgeous day and to end our time in Cairns, we all head for PJ’s and enjoy a huge steak for much cheapness! If you buy a pint, you can get a bar meal for $5 – good eh!? After dinner, we say our goodbyes and each exchange emails so we can get on the ol Facebook and start tagging each other in our drunken pics! Stephen and Shane are heading to NZ in April, so we may be bumping into them yet again – haha.
The Calypso bus comes and picks us up around 7pm and I’m offski to go pack. The lads stay up for a wee bit, having their last happy hour drink and then it’s off to bed. I can’t sleep for some reason so end up watching Beverly Hills Chihuahua…..its actually quite funny you know – check it out! Looking forward to seeing the Daniels, Matt and Symonds tomoz in Sydney – more reunions – heehee!
