Sat 21st March - BBQ fun!

After a decent lie-in, we all have brekkie – well, probably brunch by the time we’re all sorted. We discuss the various antics from last night and discover Aaron has the quietest room out all 3 of us. He has no shenanigans going on and actually gets a decent night’s sleep. Boo to him!
Dave and I head to go pick up our bank cards from the BNZ branch, as we got a voicemail on the mobile saying they had arrived. However, when we get to the bank no one can find them. Hmmmm…all a bit weird especially as they say its not their policy to phone customers when their cards arrive. The cards should just be in the branch in 2 days time. I start to get a bit narked at this situation as no one is taking ownership and the old biddies are all like ‘ooooh, this is really peculiar. I wonder who left the message’ and ‘well, it can’t be us as we never ring customers. This is unheard of. I wonder if ‘such n such’ knows about this new protocol’ – ARGH – I don’t care, just stop spraffing and look for the damn cards!!!
In the end, they cancel these cards and issue standard bank ones to us. This means that they don’t have our name on the actual card but we can still use it as a debit card and do everything as normal…..er hello!? Why the hell couldn’t we have got these anyway!? This makes no sense!!! After all that faff, we hit the supermarket and decide to have a BBQ at the lakeside, seeing as it’s a gorge day.
The boys are in their element again – man + fire = boys heaven. The BBQ isn’t your typical looking BBQ – it’s like a huge stone open fire thingy with a wee chimney. Dave and Aaron head into the woods to get firewood and start creating. It takes a while to get the blaze going but eventually it’s a roaring success (yup, I know, I’m a comic genius). We have an array of steak, sausages and corn on the cob – AMAZING!! It’s a shame when the sun goes down and it’s a tad on the chilly side. Oh well, it’s just like being back home with a BBQ!
I’m shattered so head to bed really early – 10pm, shock horror – and I leave the boys to it. I have a bad feeling that they’re off out as Aaron turns 29 at midnight….
