Sun 29th March - Exploring Roxburgh

Well, I wake up fairly early, bright eyed and bushy tailed due to me having an early night! I go down to get some brekkie and am surprised to find Aaron and Tom are actually up! However, they’re proper suffering with a hangover! Haha – unlucky lads!
The sun is baking hot so I’m enjoying topping up the tan, whilst reading me book! Dave and I decide to go for a walk and explore the area of Roxburgh – can’t take that long really! Pat and John give us a few ideas for walks – they’re very informative, but Pat really does go on a lot!
We’re away for a good couple of hours and pass a few funny things along the way. There’s a house which is selling nuts and they have 2 cars outside their house with amazing number plates: 1NUTER and 2NUTERS…..how fab is that?!?!? They even have a hut that says ‘El Nut House’ – nutty family!
We come across the Ladysmith Trail, which is a decent sized track through a forest. It ends up coming out at a point along the Cluta River and we get chatting some locals fishing – they’re dead nice but a bit on the inbred looking side of things (sorry, but they were!).
It’s been a gorgeous day and so glad that we’re off tomorrow – give my weary body a chance to recover!

Hayley
