Sun 17th May - Brummie Hayley arrives!

We sleep in til around 12 noon and I get breakfast for everyone – a Subway – as there is nothing else on offer, apart from Chinese, KFC or macdonalds….hmmmm where are all the healthy shops?! Anyways, not to worry, the weather is lovely and warm and I can forget about wearing a hoody for a while now!!
The 3 of us set off to pick the Vanstone up from the airport – I so hope she likes the hostel. It’s a nice wee community all by itself, just hope she don’t mind being on the top bunk above Aaron – haha!
The tube ride is a bit of a farce as we get sat delayed on one for ages. Must be cos it’s a Sunday. Argh, hope Vanstone waits at arrivals and doesn’t stress! We’re almost there luv! We manage to get to the airport, which has taken us nearly 2hours! What on earth!? A running Hayley comes up to us ‘thank god you’re here! I was worrying that you weren’t coming and I didn’t know where to go, or what to do!!! Thank god!!! Yay!!!!’ bless her – she’d been waiting for almost 45minutes, but said the novelty of having Lionel Ritchie on her flight was keeping her occupied – haha how funny!!
I prepare her for all the crazy peeps on the tube and she’s in her element, being nice to beggars and telling them we had no change, unlike us who just blanks them! Just like me, she gets all excited when the Hollywood sign in the hills appears. We dump her stuff in the room and then hit the supermarket – Ralph’s – for some dinner and very much needed vino! I’m well impressed that the Vanstone manages to stay awake until gone past midnight. Good skills! Not like us who all collapses as soon as we check into a room!
