We try and have a lie in and get up around 10ish – we want a fairly lazy day – so Aaron has been researching and we’re all up for the water park. Yay!! It’s cheap as chips in a taxi, so we head there in a cab. It looks like Alton Towers when we arrive and we wander around aimlessly for a bit. We spy a couple of girls who look as lost as us and start talking to them! One is from Germany and the other from Aberdeen – she lives over here and is an English teacher! We eventually find the entrance and hit the waterpark – O….M….G…..you have never seen somewhere so busy!!!!!!! And no westerners around!!!!!!! Everyone is staring and some kids are even yelling ‘hello’ and waving like loons at us = we are celebs! Mental! And to top off the weirdness……loads of the peeps there are swimming in their clothes!! Yup – some are even wearing skinny jeans – I am totally bemused by it all and start to stress that my swimsuit is going to offend people – it shouldn’t as it’s a damn swimsuit – but still, its all so weird!!
There is no where to sit – like in a normal waterpark – and so we make do under a canopy and the boys go off first while I read. They’re gone for ages and so I think they’re testing out all the slides….they went on 1!!!!! The queues are worse than alton towers! Its now my turn….eeeeeeek….and me and Aaron decide to go for the fish bowl slide- haha – how funny! You go straight down this tube slide and then get dropped off into a fish bowl type thing and spin around there until you plop out! So dignified!! Went on a rubber ring one and Aaron enjoyed the zipline – we manage to find some bamboo deck chairs and chill for a bit! Still cant get over all the staring – I mean, how rude! We don’t stare at foreigners when they visit the UK – ugh!!
we leave the waterpark section and mooch around this vast park of a place! It has characters in costumes dancing around, a monorail, fountains, massive lake with pedalos on it!! Really bizarre! Then its back in a cab and we mess around on internet for a bit – managed to ring dad on skype which was banter J
Out for dinner in time for the footie!! Its newcastle v sunderland and then liverpool v chelsea – come on the reds!!! We have to wait until 11pm for KO but we’re at the Go2 bar again and it’s a good atmos. I predict correct scores for both matches, which freaks out aaron no end!! 2-0 to the mighty reds and I go to bed happy!!!!!!!!
